I can recall studying all philosophical discussions on leadership, but I found myself always returning to Aristotle.

Summer Sunshine Lights the Path
As a member of the Educational world, many people believe summer is the time where all of the work ends, but much of it begins. This is when we do all of our learning, planning and making decisions on important parts of our next school year. Lights shine bright on all of the data we have collected over the school year as we reflect on the strengths and areas needing improvement. Plans are made to address all levels as work needs to continue to grow strengths and to close the learning gaps. The same can be said for all organizations.
- Are you utilizing all of your information to challenge others to work to increase areas showing strengths and areas showing the need for improvements?
- Are you disciplined to take time out to reflect on your leadership? Are your teams disciplined to do the same?
- What is the light shinning on?
- Do you keep your word/promises to others? Saying what you mean and meaning what you say is important. If you have not built a level of trust, then all of the other efforts will not work.
- Do you believe you are accountable and responsible for your actions, behavior and what you say? Holding yourself to these standards is a priority in order to hold others to the same level.
