My grandson Alden loves lollipops! He always picks these when he has a choice for candy! I can remember as a child many things related to lollipops! Do you have any special memories?
I can remember a commercial, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? One, two, three…” I hope some of you can picture the owl taking the licks then biting.
On the good ship lollipop, I would sing with my tap shoes on, doing my best to pretend I was Shirley Temple. I would beg my mom to curl my hair to look like hers.
Then one of my favorite parts of The Wizard of Oz is when the Lollipop Guild did their song. It still makes me smile just writing about it.
