Welcome December, I have my list

Children are making their list’s as the countdown to Christmas has officially begun.

Santa is checking his list to see who is naughty and nice.

While parents, grandparents, family, and friends work hard, it seems never to be done.

How will we pay for everything on the list with a significant price increase?

David Foster / Linda Thompson are the songwriters for My Grownup Christmas List, and it is incredible to hear Kelly Clarkson sing it. I think about a Christmas list every year, but I do my shopping throughout the year for others. My list is never found in stores.

People who know me well know I am always on the lookout for the best clearance deal! One time I found a 90% discount on jewelry. I bought all of them. When it is only ten cents, you know you will find someone who will enjoy this as a gift for a birthday, get well, or a just-because gift.

I also love to make things and have my grandchildren work on making gifts for others, so we have lots of materials to use our imagination and creative thinking by shopping for clearance items.

My Christmas list is from my heart. A place where all my thoughts start. I look around at all I see. It seems each year; there is always more need.

It is really hard to know where to even start, but the first thing on my list is to work to help heal the wounded, broken, and torn hearts.

As a child, the innocence of those years I can reflect back on and wonder if it is still valid for children today or if they are gone.

I was often told time would heal all hearts, but I do not think I can say or see it ever start.

My belief is to always do for others as much as you can. Never worry about what others can do for you, but always what you can do for them.

It is never something wrapped beneath the tree that is the best thing to see on Christmas morning. The warmth felt in your heart and the faces wrapped with smiles you see as the gifts are exchanged. The joy of giving is the best gift to receive.

My prayer on my list each year is for each person to know the reason for this season and the love of God. To wake up each day to be a solution to our world and to honor the gift of life we are given each day. Make today better than yesterday, say hello to someone different today, lend a helping hand and be grateful for all you have.

Welcome, December; I have my list……each day will be filled with blessings for all to see. We will celebrate, enjoy and know it is time to believe! Thank you, God, for staying with us through our cloudy days, storms, and sunshine. Our list is complete with our renewed hope, belief, and love as we are reminded of the true gifts at Christmas.

Blessings to all, Brenda
