As you wake in the morning to greet a new day, what thoughts do you first have? Does the alarm clock wake you, or do you wake up on your own?
I look forward to the days when the birds begin to sing their songs as the sun starts to warm the day. The clouds and temperatures are not preventing the grass from growing or the flowers from beginning to bloom. The season is changing, the days are passing by, and the summer days are straight ahead.
This week I began with a final day of radiation treatments, but it did not end my days with continuing to recover from breast cancer. This week has been the hardest, and my doctor told me it would be. I did not want to believe it as I wanted to focus on the finish line.
I have high pain tolerance, but this week has been pretty difficult. If you or someone you know is dealing with cancer finding small ways to be encouraged is always the goal of every day.
Writing, reading, and sometimes painting is my favorite things to do each day. I love time with family and talking with friends. But the best times are when you can capture moments in nature that are so peaceful, beautiful, sometimes very small but so large in the space they fill in the beauty they create.
The pain can fade away for a few minutes when we can focus on something else, and I am always blessed with many relief opportunities.
Find small ways to enjoy the day. Find small ways to bring joy. Find small ways always to bring love to each day—many blessings.
